[Locked to Akuma] - One Day At A Time
|Aug. 26th, 2006 09:08 pm [Locked to Akuma]|
Mai, before then been more apt to doing things in the city for who knew what reason. Though it had to deal with her own self and there was nothing weird about it.
Taking the time, finally, to head back out into the woods a bright idea had struck her. Oh poor Akuma having to deal with her little 'bright ideas' as it was.
Once reaching the place she had been using before heading back to the city she'd poke about, looking for Akuma for her plan to work. "Akuuuuma?"

And off in the wilderness, a faint *crash* is heard.
Well, well, that would answer her question. A grin was placed on her lips as she headed towards the sound, taking to the shadows and trees for her purpose.
There doesn't seem to be any more noises nearly so loud at this point, but there's an odd noise that grows audible as she heads in the right direction, a sort of sizzling, it might seem. Whatever could be causing that?
And that got her to stop, sizzling was bad in her experiences. For the moment she'd stay where she was, taking a glance about to make sure nothing else was about. This... would probably end badly.
It seemed to have some sort of rhythmn to it, occasionally pausing just to begin again. For that matter, it lacked the crackling one might hear from a forest fire.. But then what could it be?
Curiousity never killed the cat, right? Well, in Mai's version it didn't. So with that she'd move closer, though the shadows would be kept towards.
Gradually, among the trees and underbrush, there became visible a black-clad figure sitting cross-legged next to a tree that looked to be new-fallen. It had the same smooth type of stump that she had seen before, oddly enough..
And then Akuma held out his hand, fingers and palm perfectly flat. And surrounded it with dark magenta-and-purple ki energy, then proceeded to plane the side of the fallen treetrunk flat with said hand, causing that sizzling noise she had heard; so THAT'S how he did it!
He never ceased to get her a bit curious to anything, or at least he hadn't yet. For the moment she'd keep at a distance to watch this, figuring it was bad to interrupt him. Not that he couldn't notice her just by that energy thing by itself.
Once getting the top side made flat and smooth, he came back walking upon the wood he had just worked. Counting off paces in precise steps, he came to the halfway point and dug in with his toes, marking the spot.
And then he leapt up, performing a catlike gyration in midair to be facing the trunk from the side, and came down with other ki-strengthened hand, chopping smoothly through the trunk entire.
He'd let Mai show herself this time without spoiling the surprise.
Ah, well, taking that point she'd move to find a place to pounce him from. Ah, there was a tree that wasn't felled yet. With that she'd clammber up into it, waiting for him to stand again. Then she would pounce.
He felt her presence still; so she's going up, eh? Turning, he looked directly where she crouched.. then smiled just a touch and loaded one side of the tree on top of the other, flat to flat. There was plenty of time to deal with the expected tackle, after all.
Oh watch her flailing, jumping from teh tree to avoid any problems with that. A misfire though, stummbling from the spot with a squeal. Smooth Mai, real smooth.
Which naturally caused Akuma to leap forth and catch her in midair! A spin, and they landed smoothly; he smiled just a trifle. "You did that deliberately, didn't you."
She expected that he'd do that but was still in a good bit too much shock to say much at that moment. So she was more towards just clinging onto him for dear life.
And he is being clung to! Which makes him nervous. And when Akuma is nervous (or tired or hungry or just about anything), Akuma is SILENT.
It didn't take her long to calm down once she realized she wasn't on the ground or dead for that matter. "...Dammit."
At this point, he's just standing there holding her.
Not really sure what to do next.
"Erm, thanks. I'm not usually that clumbsy, really." She tried to look innocent though the effect didn't quite work that day.
Oh well, with that she'd move to squirm from his grip, she had to get working on her plans.
And he'd let her go to stand on her own two feet, moving back to the fallen tree-halves he had been dealing with. Turning back to her, "What brings you to me, Mai?" He's still crappy at small talk, it seems.
"Different things." She straightened herself, that small bit of a smile returning. And with that she'd move to grab onto his arm, pouting up at him. One of her special moves. "Yooooou should come to the city with me todaaaay."
And a powerful special move it was! Yet he would fight back valiantly...
"For what purpose? Is there a fighting display of some sort happening?" Flirty whut?
And probably lose as she'd keep that up, "Sure, let's go with that..."
Just about certainly, but the point was the fighting!
"..Nice try, Shiranui. What purpose do you wish to fulfill by bringing me into that weakness wasteland?"
"Fiiine. I just want you to see it, there's something I want to show you."
He should probably keep going, getting an idea of what it is she wanted to show off.. but he already had a victory, after all.
"..Very well, very well. Right after I bring these back to the site." And he picks up BOTH sections of the tree, putting them over his shoulders, and prepares to head off.
"Could you please take the stripped branches?"
